Vision
STATELABS envisions a future where Somaliland enjoys effective governance,
inclusive development, and a robust democratic culture– a society in which informed public
policy and participatory decision-making, and responsive and resilient institutions lead to lasting
peace and prosperity. The Institute foresees a Somaliland with empowered citizens, equitable
growth across all regions, and sustainable development, serving as a model of good governance
and policy innovation in the Horn of Africa.
Mission
STATELABS’s mission is to advance good governance and informed public policy
through research, inclusive dialogue, and advisory services. The Institute is dedicated to
generating evidence-based analysis on governance and development issues, promoting
decentralization and effective local empowerment, and convening inclusive dialogues among
diverse stakeholders. Through high-quality research and active engagement, STATELABS seeks
to bridge the gap between policy and practice– the institute informs decision-makers, empowers
and engages communities, and contributes to effective, accountable and inclusive in Somaliland.
